Cheltenham Board 2021
As we settle in to the first few days of March it’s a sure sign that the first great annual sporting spectacle in the shape of the Cheltenham Racing festival is upcoming. In past years numerous Dungarvan Hostelries would have had a reputation for the implementation of that famous Cheltenham Board . For those unfamiliar with the Board the concept is that you select one horse in each of the first five Races over the four days starting in March 16th and you are awarded points for your selections position. Given the current level 5 restrictions and all hostelries temporarily closed we are delighted to be able to offer you the opportunity to still be able to participate in Cheltenham Board 2021. The great attraction for this competition is that you have an interest for each of the four days and you can watch all your selections run from the comfort of your own home. It offers tremendous excitement right to the final day and great value for a week’s entertainment.
Entries can be taken on the klubfunder app or alternatively you can contact any committee member for further details and entry or text the club phone on 087 7977272 to enter. We will have prizes each day for our club ticket holders on our own leader board as well as the top prizes from fantasycheltenham.ie. The Cost of entry is €20 and this covers the four days.
Club lotto.
There was no winner of our online lotto jackpot which stood at €1,850 on Monday 22/02/2021. Numbers drawn were 3,6,24,28. One winner of match 3 Tom McDonald.. This week’s jackpot stands pat €1,900. Many thanks to everyone is supporting our online lotto. It is very much appreciated.
Membership.
Membership is now due and prices remain the same as in recent years. Payment can be made through the klubfunder app or through any committee member. Waterford Camogie 50k.
A huge well done to clubman and Waterford Camogie manager Derek Lyons who on Saturday last completed 50km inside his 5km as part of the Waterford Camogie virtual run to Croker fundraiser. Derek certainly had the weather on his side as he covered his 50km In springlike weather while taking in all the local landmarks. Well done again to everyone who participated in the challenge
. Ladies Football.
Lidl are once again to the fore supporting ladies football and are now running A loyalty programme where clubs collect stamps which can then be redeemed for the sponsorship of jerseys to the girls. We are asking all our supporters that on their lidl plus app that you select Dungarvan as your club of choice to support. When you spend in store and scan your lidl card this will in turn earn stamps. This rewards scheme is running up to April the 11th and all support for the ladies would be appreciated. Return to school. Some of our younger members along with some of our older ones too made a very welcome return to the classroom this week. We hope that you are all enjoying the return to the classroom and we are sure it will be a welcome return for all students in the coming weeks.
